I just finished Chapter 5 Water and Solution with Form 2 Saintifik last week. So, before doing MPC (Mastery Progressive Check) for the topic, I decided to do some revision with the kids.
I decided to use Padlet and Canva for this lesson
Students had to log in into their Google Account in order to access my Padlet named TMT's Chemistry Revision Wall. We were being introduced with Padlet during our PGDE session in Technology course. For me, Padlet has many benefits in which students and teachers can share the ideas and materials in a creative yet simpler way.

My next instruction for them was to do summary on any subtopic in that chapter using Canva. It can be either poster, flyer, info graphic, mind map or anything.
I have been using Canva since years ago to design any poster and it is very simple to use. I believe, first-hand users like most of my students can easily learn how to use it.

I even uploaded my mind map in Padlet as an example for the task so that the students can refer.

Students happily uploaded their masterpieces in Padlet.
They also commented and liked others' design

All in all, today's class went well. The students loved the idea of doing revision using Canva and at the same time, they can view and refer other's material in Padlet.
Drawbacks
Some of the difficulties that I faced when using these tools in class are :
1. Students forgot their Google email and password. Hence, they had to use their friend's ID in order to log in into Canva and Padlet.
2. Students spent too much time in choosing the design and designing instead of doing the revision.
3. Teacher forgot to remind students that they cannot use the Premium features in Canva for example, fancy pictures, fonts and template. So, they had to replace it with the free one which is time-consuming.
Positive Feedback
Time management of the class went well as the students were able to finish their task within the given time. They were actively engaged and give good cooperation.
Students' feedback on today's activity
For teachers who want to use this activity in class, I strongly recommend it and hoping that it will benefit our students not just in academic part but also in life skills 😎
