I am Najwa, from Taiping and currently teaching in MRSM Tun Mustapha, Tawau.
I've been working as a teacher for two years plus and so far I am enjoying it, Alhamdulillah π
I teach Chemistry and Science for different syllabus; KBSM, KSSM, IGCSE and Checkpoint.
Dulu time sekolah tahu KBSM je, rupanya banyak je lagi syllabus yg wujud kat dunia ni haha.
Why do I wanna be a teacher?
1. Maybe because my parents are also teachers.
Looking at them, somehow I feel attracted to the job. During school holiday, I love the fact that they are also there when I am off from school. Of course, they are not present all the time due to school demands and other stuffs but yeah, basically they are there.
We rarely go for a holiday during school break, so most of our days are at home; eating, playing, watching TV, fighting and repeat. Just being able to eat home-cooked meals everyday makes me feel happy and full π
Grew up in that background, I know that in future, I also want my family to have me most of their time. Time is actually more worthy than money. We can work hard to gain more money, but we cannot do the same thing for time. Once it is lost, you cannot retrieve it back.
2. I do not know what else can I do beside teaching haha bolehtak macam tu.
I love doing business coz I love money (well, who doesn't kan? π) but I do not have the right expertise and consistent courage to do so. So, let's cross
I love pretty and colourful things, organized space, and putting this and that to an area so I once thought that hm maybe we can go for design-related careers. But, to be any kind of designer you really need to go through a loooooong and hard degree life in which your creative mind is really needed all the time. Anddd clearly, my mind is not that creative and critical. My younger brother is now working in that sector, so looking at him now I know I've made a right decision, hopefully insyaAllah. He really likes drawing since he was small, lukis Goku, Bezita and others haha so it suits him well. Kakak dia lukis orang lidi ja pandai π
Medical? Being a clumsy me, I am afraid that I prescribe or diagnose wrongly so you better not, Najwa.
Engineering? I hate Physcis πand it's a two-sided hate relationship.
So, jomla kita jadi cikgu yer. Haha
Nevertheless, one thing to always remember, Allah letakkan kita di tempat yang sebaiknya dan sepatutnya. Mungkin kita rasa we can do other things better, but definitely Allah knows better.
May Allah guide our heart to always firmly believe that His plan is the best π
3. Teaching involves with many emotions.
One moment you become really angry to the kids, but the next moment their jokes made your day.
You feel sad and loser when the students score low in the exams, but when they show a progress even a tiny bit, you feel extremely happy.
You come to class with a heavy mind, but when dealing with kids, somehow it is gone.
Teaching deals with many parties; students (our core business), their parents and admins.
Each of them tells you different stories and teach you different lessons.
It is you who should know how to be wise and learn from everything around you.
Yes, it is sometimes tiring when the job asks more from you. But one thing that I keep telling myself is that there are lots of people who really yearn for your place so why should we whine and complain all the time? Let's do our job honestly and insyaAllah, we will feel the sweetness at the end of the day.
Believe it or not, we learn something from every tasks assigned to us. And that is what shaping us to be what we are now :) So, chin up my fellow teachers! ✋✋
Some of the souls that contribute to my roller-coaster emotions for these past few years.. Haha

People come and go, but the memories remain π
That's some bits and pieces of my setahun jagung teaching journey.
May this passion never runs out and always blooms :)
P/s : This blog is made due to the assignment demand.
But I hope I will still use this as a medium to share my journey :)
